Started at CCCC as an adjunct in 2007, teaching Chemistry for the Health Sciences, and began full-time in 2013. Earlier, she worked for 10 years in the field of environmental consulting, and has taught chemistry at the High School level.

Jenifer enjoys reading, gardening, and music.

Began teaching at CCCC as an adjunct faculty member from the fall of 1996 until the spring of 2006, when she became a full-time faculty member. Lynda currently teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology courses and an online Survey of Human Anatomy and Physiology course. Other courses taught at CCCC include Concepts in Biology I and II. Her research background is in the field of sensory neurobiology, using animal models to answer questions about how chemical stimuli are acquired and processed by the nervous system.

In addition to teaching at the college, Lynda is also an AAAI/ISMA (American Aerobic Association International /International Sports Medicine Association) certified group aerobic instructor. Her other outside interests include music, food, nature, bicycling, and family activities.

Eric teaches physics and astronomy at the college, having joined the faculty in 2010. Prior to  that, he taught at Lansing Community College, Lansing, Michigan, and the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. With a background in astrophysics, his current interests focus on physics education research and include curriculum development, assessment for learning and representational coherence.

 

Hemant Chikarmane

Ph.D. Molecular Biology, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bombay, India

Teaches microbiology, cell biology, and public health. Joined the faculty full time in 1999. He was previously Director of Biotechnology at a biotech company in Woburn, and a Visiting Scientist at the Hokkaido Fisheries Institute in Japan. He was also an Investigator at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole. During 1992-1995, he taught the microbiology course at CCCC as an adjunct. Before coming to the U.S., he taught microbiology and molecular biology in India.

His outside interests include archaeology, history of science and technology, anthropology, Indian and western classical music, jazz and blues.

Amy has been teaching a variety of college science courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Survey of Human A&P, and Concepts in Biology I as an adjunct since 2002 and as full time faculty since 2008. Her main academic interests include comparative vertebrate anatomy, evolution and systematics while her graduate degree focused on vertebrate diversity in riparian ecosystems. Interests outside the classroom include marine biology, baseball, yoga and hockey.

Catherine has been teaching environmental science/technology courses since 1995. She has worked in the commercial environmental field since 1984 as chemist, scientist, or quality control supervisor. She continues to stay current in environmental technology field with commercial environmental jobs. She has many professional certificates from advanced courses.

Kate joined CCCC as an Assistant Professor of Biology in 2015 after previously teaching at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York. She currently teaches general biology and has experience teaching cell biology, microbiology, biotechnology and nutrition courses. Additionally, Kate maintains a research interest in comprehensive, product-minded sustainability projects encompassing an interdisciplinary approach.

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys hiking, biking, baking and knitting.
